Last Chinese New Year, we went on a trip to Penang, Malaysia. We did very little planning this time, and we did not take any kind of tour. We simply spent the 4-day weekend crisscrossing George Town on foot, doing our own version of ‘Hangin’ Around with No Plan’.
I’m quite pleased with the picture-taking that I did throughout the trip. Although I did not bring my DSLR camera with me, I kept my promise to take pictures because I wanted to remember what I saw.
As a result, I was able to use the 9:16 frame most of the time. I took pictures of mundane things such as empty streets, a bus stop, a funeral service building, and even intersections. Not worrying about whether an object would be interesting for people on social media is very liberating.
I just finished posting some of the photographs on Instagram. Since I took many different objects, now I have more options to post.
